This is why we need wildlife crossings
What do you think about adding wildlife crossings on Hwy 17, 92 and 84?
Couple snippets from the article:
"30 such passages throughout the state, with two that cross a highway..drivers and animals collided 472 times..An underpass was constructed in this area and completed in 2016. Since then remote cameras have snapped images of wildlife using the underpass including deer, raccoons, coyotes and other small animals, all taking advantage of the safer route..Animals are using the structure; we're not just moving the problem..That state's crossings, including underpasses and deer-tight fencing, have reduced deer and vehicles collisions by 85 percent."
New stickers available! The idea came from the local Hawaiian sticker "Keep the Country Country". We wanted something for home. "Keep the Coast Country".
We've finished building our new store! We hand build all the displays and shelves! The wood and pallets were found in town and the harbor of given to us by friends. Now to stock the shop and get our systems in place. We can be found inside Spanishtown on 92 in Half Moon Bay. Still much to do and we look forward to being fully open on the weekends soon! Come visit us! All are welcome!
Whether you have skated it, stood on it to see the waves, photographed it for your insta, or simply driven by it at sunset, we all know the Jetty Mini Ramp . It's grown to become an iconic symbol of our coastside community. LINK TO SUPPORT
With the weather warming up and summer just around the corner, we all can't wait to get some great skate sessions together at the jetty but unfortunately this winter has really taken a toll on our beloved ramp.
Regardles of the "fall at your own risk" nature of skateboarding, the ramp is becoming a little too sketchy to ride. The last thing any of us want is someone hurting themselves on the ramp due to a fixable hole in the wood... or worse, the ramp being destroyed because of a lawsuit that follows :(
A few of us have patched and fixed what we can with the little money we have but we sure could use some community help :)
We really just need wood, screws, and a new surface.
The reason we have to keep patching holes is because we don't have a real outdoor grade Skatelite surface. a single 4' x 8' sheet of this costs $199...
Used materials are an option too!
If you know anyone who can help out in any way, please pass this on!
